We are aware of the Ontario Government’s decision to order the mandatory closure of all non-essential workplaces to fight the spread of COVID-19. Nylene Canada, being a manufacturer of raw materials that are inputs to other businesses, is considered and recognized as an Essential Workplace.

19. Businesses that extract, manufacture, process and distribute goods, products, equipment and materials, including businesses that manufacture inputs to other manufacturers (e.g. primary metal/ steel, blow molding, component manufacturers, chemicals, etc. that feed the end-product manufacturer);

We are maintaining close contact with all our suppliers and can assure you that our supplies have not been interrupted. Internally, we continue to maintain strict guidelines for the continued wellbeing of all in our sphere of influence.

At Nylene, the health and welfare of our employees, customers and suppliers are part of our corporate and social responsibility. We continue to monitor guidance from various agencies regarding health and safety precautions related to the coronavirus, known as COVID-19.

As a result, Nylene is implementing the following guidelines in an effort to maintain the safest work environment and to limit further spread of this virus.

These precautionary practices include:

• All unscheduled visitors and sales people will be denied access at the door. Further, we are discouraging any face to face meetings with suppliers and customers.
• We have adopted a work from home policy for those who can do so, to minimize the in-person interactions between employees.
• We have reinforced the practice of social distancing, keeping at least 2 metres (6 ft) apart from each other, and have moved to on-line meetings rather than in person ones.
• We continue to ask employees to wash their hands with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds, and to use the alcohol-based hand-sanitizers already available throughout our facilities.
• We have increased the frequency of cleaning for common area surfaces such as door knobs, handles and railings and shared work areas.
• We have put in place guidelines to handle presumptive cases of the virus in the plant as well as a policy for any employee suspecting their contact with a presumptive case.
• We have discouraged travel outside the region and reiterated the federal restriction on travel outside the country.
• We have implemented a strict protocol to be used upon return from international travel, including 14-day mandatory self-isolation.

With increased diligence by our entire team, we hope to be part of the solution in stopping the spread of this virus.
