About the Position
Nylene Canada is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic (Millwright) to join our team. Reporting to the Maintenance Leadhand, you will perform essential maintenance tasks, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our equipment and facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain personal tools and tools borrowed from the tool crib in proper working order.
- Perform maintenance and construction tasks as assigned by the Leadhand.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, adhering to plant and department safety rules.
- Participate in monthly safety meetings.
- Regularly update the Leadhand and Area Supervision on task progress.
- Maintain housekeeping standards for all equipment and workspaces.
- Provide weekend coverage and be available for call-in standby as scheduled.
- Assemble, install, and test machinery for proper functionality.
- Optimize equipment layout to minimize downtime.
- Diagnose and repair machinery issues, replacing parts as needed.
- Dismantle outdated machines and install new ones.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, including lubrication and component replacement.
- Operate lathes and grinders to fabricate parts for repairs and maintenance.
- Interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics for machinery setup.
- Use hoisting and lifting devices, such as cranes and forklifts, for machine installation.
- Repair and fabricate machine parts using pipefitting, threading, welding (MIG, TIG, stick), and brazing techniques.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Completion of a mechanic apprenticeship program.
- Valid 433A Millwright License.

Key Responsibilities:
